This fee is charged when the first Opticomm circuit is activated at a premise. In new developments, this fee is not applicable as the installation is arranged directly through Opticomm and billed directly by Opticomm to the resident. If you are unsure if whether a New Development Fee applies to you, please contact our support staff.

Actual throughput speeds may be slower and could vary due to various factors including customer cabling and equipment, download source, and quality and distance of in-building copper. Devices connected by Wi-Fi may experience slower speeds than those connected by Ethernet cable.
Yes. As Wi-Fi broadcasts over a shared channel frequency range, you are competing against others in your area for bandwidth. The more people in your area using Wi-Fi simultaneously, the slower your connection. Most good modem/routers offer two Wi-Fi types. The first is the 2.4Ghz range, which is the most common. (Modems with only one speed will typically be 2.4Ghz.) The second is 5Ghz, which is generally faster, but with a smaller range (distance from the modem/router). 5GHz is ideal for streaming video.
Yes, you can simply subscribe to our AlphaPhone (VoIP) service when ordering the Fibre service. You can also port an existing phone number to your new VoIP service.
Porting a phone number is free of charge. Once your broadband service is activated your telephone number may take up to 10 to 15 days to transfer across, depending on your current provider. During the last day of this process prior to porting completion, you may not be able to receive incoming calls or make outgoing calls for a short period of time until the port is completed.
If you cannot manage without your incoming calls during the transfer process please contact us on 1300 746 754 to discuss your options.
If you would prefer to use your own cable technician, rather than use the network carrier technician to install or repair your B-side or internal cabling, make sure you use a Registered Cabler. To find the Registered Cabler nearest you, please visit http://www.registeredcablers.com.au/find-cablers.
